Video Summary
A 59-year-old man had an incidental left atrial septal cystic mass found on CT during hematuria workup. Echocardiography and cardiac MRI showed a simple, nonenhancing fluid-filled lesion without nodularity, consistent with an intracardiac bronchogenic cyst. These rare congenital lesions arise from abnormal foregut development and can cause chest pain, dyspnea, or arrhythmias, but may also be asymptomatic. The mass was observed rather than resected because it appeared benign, and it remained stable on follow-up for three years. The talk reviewed imaging findings, differential diagnosis, pathology, and the importance of avoiding biopsy or aspiration due to rupture risk.
