Video Summary
The presentation evaluated myocardial T1rho mapping against conventional CMR methods in 114 patients with diverse cardiac diseases and 44 healthy controls. T1rho values were acquired using a motion-corrected sequence and compared with T1, T2, ECV, and late gadolinium enhancement. In controls, T1rho averaged about 47 ms, was higher in females, increased from base to apex, and correlated with age. In patients, T1rho was elevated in acute and chronic, ischemic and non-ischemic injuries, and correlated with tissue injury markers, especially ECV. The speaker concluded T1rho may be a sensitive contrast-free marker of myocardial injury.
