Video Summary
The presentation introduced SATURN, a free-breathing MRI sequence for simultaneous myocardial T1, T2, and T2* mapping. It combines saturation recovery, T2-preparation, multigradient-echo readout, and navigator gating to acquire 35 weighted images in about 26.5 seconds. Simulations and phantom studies showed accurate T1 and T2 estimates, while T2* was more noise-sensitive and less accurate at longer values. In 10 healthy volunteers, SATURN agreed well with reference methods and produced good image quality. Patient examples suggested sensitivity to disease-related changes, such as elevated relaxation times in hypertrophic and hypertensive heart disease.
