Video Summary
This talk presents a study of MRI-guided right and left heart catheterization in congenital heart disease, aimed at reducing radiation exposure in children. Using specialized MRI and X-ray hybrid lab setups in London and Texas, the team tested PSAT imaging and interactive 3D visualization to track balloons and catheters. Thirty patients were recruited, mostly small children with complex anatomy. Balloon visualization was successful in all cases, and anatomy was well seen. MRI-guided catheterization proved feasible and safe, though small floppy catheters and lack of wires limited completeness. Wider wires and improved platforms may enhance future procedures.
